Ground Fault Neutralizer (REFCL)

The GFN is an Active Earth Fault Protection System for distribution and transmission networks. It detects and locates Earth Faults with class leading detection and locating sensitivity.

The GFN eliminates the Earth Fault current utilizing power electronics (RCC) faster than a breaker can trip the fault. It is therefore used for Bushfire mitigation purpose in Australia and wildfire mitigation purpose in the USA.

The GFN performance has created a new protection class known as REFCL used for bushfire and wildfire mitigation:
- EF Impedance detection and localization: 0-25kΩ
- EF Current kept below this level for earth fault locating purpose: 500 mA
- EF Current eliminated within: 85ms

Active Fault Passage Indicator (FPI)

Pinpoint the Earth Fault location down to the faulty network section, even on very high impedance earth faults.

Fulfills the requirement to avoid fire ignition in high voltage distribution networks:
- EF Impedance detection 0-25kΩ
- EF Current sensitivity ≤500 mA

Automatic Tuning Device

The Swedish Neutral Automatic Tuning Device continuously monitors the network and tunes the Arc Suppression Coil to the correct value in order to reduce capacitive earth fault currents to a minimum.

Arc Suppression Coil

An Arc Suppression Coil is a device that is connected to the transformer neutral to limit the capacitive earth fault current flowing when an earth fault occurs in a high or medium voltage network. This method of system grounding is called resonance grounding.

Earth Fault Locator

The Swedish Neutral Earth Fault Locator detects earth faults in resonance and other high impedance grounded high voltage networks. The Earth Fault Locator supplies information on what feeder the earth fault has occurred (feeder indication).

Grounding Transformer

A Grounding Transformer is used to provide a physical neutral for a power transformer with a delta connected downside. The Grounding Transformers neutral point has low impedance and is suitable for different system groundings such as solid earthing, NER earthing (resistor) and resonance earthing (Arc Suppression Coils).

Neutral Earthing Resistor

The purpose of a Neutral Earthing Resistor is to generate the active current some types of protection relays need in order to be able to detect earth faults.
